The Second trimester

By the time the 4th month started, nausea and food aversions started to decrease. I was starting to feel more comfortable now.

Wardrobe Malfunction:

Started feeling uncomfortable in my jeans while sitting, since my tummy would press against it. So wanted to get some new comfy clothes. However, at this stage, one is large enough for older clothes but small enough for maternity clothes, so I use to crib a lot about what I can wear to office. I don't like wearing too much of salwar suits, so that just added to the frustration. Me and hubby went to the market one day and bought some slacks and long tops. These are anyways in fashion these days and even non-preggy ladies are wearing them so they are easily available.

I've switched to wearing slacks, skirts and sometimes suits.

The Virus:
I generally do not fall sick easily or often, but they say that the immunity level of pregnant ladies is low. So had a bout of viral fever and had to take rest for 3 days. During pregnancy, one cannot take antibiotics, but Crocin is safe. Antibiotics are given only when it is considered very very essential. So if you fall sick, do tell the physician that you are pregnant.

  2. Hey...Glad that you found this info useful... I was not able to keep it up to date though...My baby was delivered in Apollo Hospital, Noida under Dr. Suman Kher and Dr. Monica Malik.....I just love both of these docs: they are so nice and considerate...
I had a normal delivery and had opted for epidural, so it was bearable pain...

  3. Hello girls

    i really liked ur post!

i am 33 weeks pregnant and I am also under dr. Suman Kher and dr.Monica.

They are great docs, chilled out and experienced but I heard that they have started performing many c- sections these days and i am quite worried about it?

When did you go to the hospital? right when your pains started?

  4. I went to the hospital once i noticed that the contractions were happening every 5-7 minutes... Initially I was unable to make out if the pains were actually labor pains or not.

I dont think that they do C-secs just like that..They would have some real reasons to do it...And I believe that since they are doctors, they know better than us...

How old is she or he? How does it feel to be mom? Was your husband allowed in the labor room? Did both the docs come for the delivery?...ufff..i have so many questions ;-)

Thank you for your reply! It's extremely nice of you!

  6. I had a baby boy on Feb 12th..He is 4 and a half months now...It feels great to be a mom with loads of responsibilities on your shoulders, especially if u r a working mom (like me)...
Husband was not allowed in the labour room...He would be allowed to visit you off and on in the pre-labour room... And believe me, once you are in the labour room, you won't care if ur hubby is there or not...All you would want is to get the baby out , somehow :)

Yes, both the docs came for the delivery...Mostly Monica Malik does everything and Suman Kher is just there....

I am glad that I can be of some help and share my experience with you..Don't hesitate to ask questions..I can very well understand how u must be feeling since I was at the same stage a few months back :

  7. Thank you very much for your quick and amazingly helpful replies. I am impatient to be mom and know what is the labor pain all about.7 weeks to go! Though I am sometimes very pissed off with the imposing dos and don'ts from elders.
